Clinical Signs: The gelding was evaluated by the referring veterinarian for colic and fever on 3/15/25, and was referred to a hospital for treatment and diagnostics. The gelding was admitted to the isolation facility and subsequently diagnosed with putative intestinal hyperammonemia secondary to Salmonella infection. He remains hospitalized, but is responding to medical management.
