About Equine Alert
Our Mission
Equine Alert provides real-time disease outbreak monitoring for horse owners, breeders, trainers, and equine facilities across the United States. Our goal is to help the equine community stay informed about disease outbreaks so they can take appropriate precautions to protect their horses.
Data Sources
Equine Disease Communication Center (EDCC)
Our primary data source is the Equine Disease Communication Center, a non-profit organization that provides disease outbreak information to the equine industry.
EDCC collects outbreak reports from state veterinarians, diagnostic laboratories, and industry stakeholders to provide timely and accurate disease alerts.
We automatically collect and process outbreak alerts from EDCC multiple times daily to ensure our database reflects the most current information available.
