Clinical Signs: Owner worked horse and noted he was stiff and not himself. Two days later when horse was not improving, vet was called to examine him. Vet noted that horse didn't appear to be aware of his surroundings, was leaning against his stall wall and had a fever of 102.7. When he was asked to circle, he could not advance his front legs without assistance. Despite veterinary treatment, horse died the following day.
