Clinical Signs: The colt was initially housed in a facility in TN with an ongoing strangles outbreak. The colt was shipped from TN to VA in early August and developed fever and throatlatch swelling and was subsequently referred to an equine hospital in VA. Diagnostics revealed clinical signs consistent with strangles and moderate penumonia. The colt subsequently tested positive for Strep equi equi and Rhodococcus. The colt has improved with medical management.
